ISA Certified Arborist ISA Certified Tree Risk Assessor Master Gardener Insured, Bonded, and Licensed (FirstLD897NC)

About me:

I’ve spent most of my life observing the natural world. This led me to studies of ecology, botany, and mycology in college; an Arborist Certification with the International Society of Arboriculture; the completion of the Master Gardener program through Washington State University, and most recently a Tree Risk Assessment certification through the ISA. My Permaculture design course certificate from the Bullocks Permaculture Homestead on Orcas Island, complements my many years of organic gardening, growing food, and designing landscapes with respect and care for the earth.

I’m interested in helping humanity lessen its negative impact on the Earth. The more someone interacts with and has a relationship to something, the more they will care about it. I think one of the best ways to build this connection with the local environment is by growing a bit of our own food, be it by planting just one fruit tree, or turning an entire lawn into a diverse garden. This can help people connect to the seasons and natural cycles around them, become more aware of where their food comes from, and (hopefully) how our actions affect the environment and the people around us.
